#2: Biggest lesson learned in getting the film made? Best part in getting the film made?
Adaptation. Filmmaking is as much about creating as it is about adapting to its ever-changing process. The greatest thing about making a film is that you’ve actually made a film. By making an independent film, you have, in a way, legitimized yourself in this business.
FLS has TWO showings! See you there!

"As an independent filmmaker who works in the world of Hollywood South, director Mac Alsfeld has created a crowd-pleasing comedy that involved the skills (both in front of and behind the camera) of many of the talented film professionals working on big-budget productions in Louisiana. At its world premiere at the 24th Annual New Orleans Film Festival, Father-Like Son was so popular with our festival audience that we had to add an additional screening (at one of our largest venues) to accommodate the demand. The film tells an original story, is well-paced, and marks the debut of a new director whose work we will surely continue to anticipate." –Clint Bowie, program director of the New Orleans Film Society

"Local filmmaker Mac Alsfeld writes, directs and stars in a crazy comedy -- rough around the edges but well-written -- about a 24-year-old whose views on relationships are put to the test when his recently widowed mother marries a man his own age."
